Distance Reiki from the comfort of your own space

A private, unhurried session you can receive at home — with time to connect beforehand, rest during the Reiki practice, and reflect afterwards.

What it is

What is Distance Reiki?

Distance Reiki, sometimes called remote or absentee Reiki, is a way of offering Reiki when practitioner and recipient are not in the same physical space. Within Reiki tradition, the practice is based on the understanding that connection is not limited by ordinary ideas of physical distance, and that focused intention can be used to direct Reiki beyond the treatment room.

Practitioners often describe this in terms of energy, intention, and the idea that time and space are not absolute barriers to connection. In a Distance Reiki session, I use the same focused presence and Reiki practice I would bring to an in-person session, while you rest in your own space at the agreed time.

How this works is understood spiritually within Reiki rather than as a mechanism established by conventional science. You do not need to adopt a particular explanation in order to receive a session; you can simply notice your own experience.

Your session

How a Distance Reiki session works

Before

We begin with a short phone or online check-in. You can share how you are feeling, what has brought you to the session, and any intention you would like to hold. You never need to disclose more than feels comfortable.

During

At the agreed time, you rest in a quiet, comfortable place while I begin the Reiki practice. Some people notice warmth, tingling, emotion, imagery, sleepiness, or deep relaxation; others notice very little. There is no right or wrong experience.

After

We reconnect briefly after the session or at an agreed time. I may share general observations and invite you to notice how you feel. Following the session, I also prepare a personal Soul Letter containing the intuitive impressions, emotions, imagery and messages that arose during our time together. I do not present impressions as medical diagnoses or predictions.

Why choose it

A flexible way to receive Reiki

Distance sessions can suit people who would prefer to remain at home, live outside Melbourne, have mobility or caregiving constraints, or simply find it easier to relax in familiar surroundings.

They can also be useful when life feels too full to add travel time, when you want privacy, or when you already know that your own bedroom, sofa or meditation space is where your nervous system settles most easily.

  • No travel required
  • Available across Australia and internationally by arrangement
  • You can rest immediately after the session
  • The session can be shaped around your personal intention
Reiki is complementary wellbeing support.
It should not replace medical assessment, mental health care, medication, or emergency assistance. If you are unwell or have concerning symptoms, seek appropriate healthcare.

Who may prefer Distance Reiki

You live further away

If you are outside Melbourne, travelling, or living interstate, a remote session allows you to receive Reiki without needing to be physically present in Mitcham.

Home feels safer

Some people find it easier to relax deeply in a familiar environment. Being at home can make the experience feel quieter, more private, and less effortful.

Your schedule is full

Distance Reiki can remove travel time and make it easier to fit a restorative pause into a busy week, particularly for parents, carers and people with demanding work schedules.

Behind the session

What I do while you rest

Before the session begins, I create a quiet space, ground myself and reconnect with the intention we discussed. I then move through the Reiki practice in the same calm, attentive way I would during an in-person session.

Within the Reiki tradition, this may include working with established Reiki symbols and focused intention. I do not need you to concentrate, visualise anything, or stay awake. Your only role is to be comfortable and allow yourself a period of uninterrupted rest.

Your experience

What you may notice

Experiences vary widely. Some people describe warmth, tingling, heaviness, lightness, emotional release, vivid imagery, sleepiness or a sense of calm. Others simply feel as though they have had a deep rest.

There is no sensation you need to produce and no result you need to prove. I encourage you to notice your experience without judging it, including changes that may be subtle rather than dramatic.

A personal reflection

Your Soul Letter

One of the most personal parts of my Distance Reiki work is something I call a Soul Letter.

During and after the session, I write down the thoughts, emotions, impressions and intuitive messages that arise for me while I am connected with your energy and the intention we have set together. I do not try to analyse or force what comes through. I simply listen, notice and write.

Sometimes the letter reflects feelings or inner conflicts that a person has been carrying but has found difficult to put into words. At other times, I may receive imagery, phrases, memories or impressions that feel connected with loved ones who have passed, ancestors, spiritual guides or a deeper part of the person's own inner awareness.

I share these as intuitive impressions rather than absolute statements or predictions, and you are always free to take only what feels meaningful to you.

Clients often tell me that receiving their Soul Letter feels deeply cathartic — as though something inside them has finally been heard, acknowledged or given language. For some, the letter becomes a quiet reflection to return to in the days or weeks after their Reiki session.

The intention is not to tell you what to think or what your life means. It is to offer another space for reflection, connection and whatever insight may naturally emerge from the session.

Distance vs in-person

How does it differ from an in-person session?

The biggest difference is practical: we are not in the same room. In-person Reiki includes the atmosphere of the treatment space and, if you choose, gentle hands-on contact. Distance Reiki removes travel and lets you remain in your own environment.

Both formats include intention-setting, dedicated quiet time, Reiki practice and a short opportunity to reflect afterwards. The best choice is usually the one that helps you feel most comfortable and able to relax.

After your session

Give yourself a little space afterwards

Because you are already at home, one of the advantages of a distance session is that you do not need to immediately drive, commute or return to a busy environment.

You may want to drink some water, sit quietly, journal, take a gentle walk or simply continue resting. Some people notice an immediate sense of calm; others reflect on the session later. There is no required aftercare routine.

Preparing at home

You do not need to do anything complicated

Choose a quiet place where you are unlikely to be interrupted. Silence your phone, soften the lighting if you wish, and sit or lie down with a blanket and water nearby. Comfortable clothing is all you need.

Questions

Common questions about Distance Reiki

Do I need to be on a video call for the whole session?

No. We can connect briefly before and after, while the Reiki portion itself can happen while you simply rest.

How much does Distance Reiki cost?

Each Distance Reiki session costs AUD 100 and usually runs for 45–60 minutes, including the check-in and debrief.

How long is a session?

A Distance Reiki session usually runs for 45–60 minutes, including the check-in and debrief.

What if I do not feel anything?

That is completely fine. Sensations vary greatly between people and from session to session. A session does not need to feel dramatic to be meaningful as a relaxation or reflective practice.

Can I receive Distance Reiki from outside Melbourne?

Yes. Distance Reiki can be arranged Australia-wide and internationally, subject to scheduling.

Do I need to believe in Reiki for a session to be worthwhile?

No particular belief is required. You can approach the session as a period of quiet rest and reflection, remain curious about what you notice, and make your own sense of the experience.

Can Distance Reiki replace seeing my doctor or therapist?

No. Reiki is offered as complementary wellbeing support. It should sit alongside appropriate medical or mental health care, not replace it.

Can I book Distance Reiki if I have never had Reiki before?

Yes. You do not need previous Reiki experience. I will explain the process beforehand so you know what to expect and can ask any questions before we begin.
