How distant Reiki works

Distant Reiki, sometimes called remote or absentee Reiki, offers a way to receive a quiet, intentional session without travelling to the practice.

Within Reiki tradition, practitioners believe that intention and Reiki symbols allow the practice to be offered across distance. This is a spiritual belief rather than a scientifically established mechanism. The practical experience is simple: you rest in your own space while I hold the session from mine.

Before the session

We begin with a short phone or online conversation. You can share what has brought you to the session, how you are feeling, and any intention you would like to hold. You never need to disclose more than feels comfortable.

Choose a quiet place where you are unlikely to be interrupted. Silence your phone, soften the lighting, and sit or lie down with a blanket and water nearby. Comfortable clothing is all you need.

During distant Reiki

At the agreed time, I prepare a private space, focus on your intention, and begin the Reiki practice. You rest at home for the session. Some people like soft music; others prefer silence.

You may experience warmth, tingling, emotion, imagery, sleepiness, or a deep sense of calm. You may also notice very little. There is no correct sensation and nothing you need to make happen.

Why people choose a remote session

• You can remain in familiar surroundings without travel.
• It may be easier to arrange around mobility, caregiving, or a demanding schedule.
• Online access makes a session possible from anywhere in Australia.
• You can continue resting immediately afterwards.

After the session

We reconnect briefly after the practice, either immediately or at an agreed time. I may share general observations and invite you to notice how you feel, without presenting impressions as diagnoses or predictions.

Drink some water, move slowly, and give yourself a little transition time. Responses are personal and may be subtle.
