Shilpa's story

More than a practitioner.
A guide you can trust.

Shilpa Wason is an Australian Reiki Master Teacher trained in the Usui Reiki tradition — one of the oldest and most respected lineages in the global Reiki community. Her path to becoming a healer was a deeply personal one, shaped by her own experience of seeking stillness, balance, and meaning in the midst of a busy life.

What drew Shilpa to Reiki was not simply its effectiveness as a healing modality, but its fundamental philosophy: that we each carry within us an innate capacity to heal. The practitioner does not do the healing. The practitioner holds the space, channels the energy, and trusts the client's own wisdom to guide the process.

This belief shapes everything about the way Shilpa works. Her sessions are unhurried. Her manner is gentle and non-judgmental. She listens — not just to what you say, but to what your energy is communicating. And she creates, in her Mitcham practice, a space that feels genuinely safe: a space where you can fully arrive, let go, and rest.

Shilpa's clients span a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Many come in during life transitions — navigating burnout, grief, relationship changes, health challenges, or that quiet but persistent sense that something is out of balance. Others simply come to maintain their wellbeing, returning monthly as a practice of self-care and energetic maintenance.

She is equally passionate about Reiki education, offering training from Reiki Level 1 through to Master Teacher level in the Usui tradition. She believes that the ability to work with life force energy is not reserved for a gifted few — it is a skill that can be learnt, refined, and shared, and she takes great pride in supporting her students every step of the way.

Shilpa's philosophy

"True healing comes from within. My role is to hold the space, and to help you remember that your body already knows the way."

This conviction — that healing is not something done to you, but something awakened within you — is not just a philosophy. It shapes every single session Shilpa offers, every Reiki class she teaches, and every conversation she holds with a client who arrives feeling lost, heavy, or simply depleted.

Shilpa does not offer quick fixes or false promises. She offers presence, skill, and the profound gift of truly being met — seen, heard, and supported — in a space of complete safety.

What guides every session

The principles at the heart of this practice

Safety above all

Every woman who walks through the door deserves to feel completely safe, unhurried, and free from judgment. Nothing in a session happens without your knowledge and comfort.

Deep presence

Shilpa brings her full attention and intention to every session. You are not a booking on a calendar. You are a whole person, and you are treated as one.

Innate empowerment

The goal is never dependence on a practitioner. Shilpa's work aims to reconnect you to your own inner wisdom — so that you leave feeling more yourself, not more reliant on others.

Honesty & care

Shilpa will always be honest with you about what Reiki can and cannot do. It works best as part of a holistic approach to wellbeing — and she will always encourage you to maintain your existing medical support.

Training & lineage

The Usui Reiki tradition

Shilpa is trained in the Usui Reiki tradition — named for Mikao Usui, the Japanese Buddhist who is credited with developing the Reiki system in the early 20th century. The Usui tradition is the foundation from which most modern Reiki practices worldwide have grown.

As a Reiki Master Teacher, Shilpa holds the highest level of Reiki training — which means not only the ability to practise Reiki at the deepest level, but also the knowledge and authority to attune and teach others. This lineage, passed from teacher to student across generations, is part of what gives Reiki its integrity.

When you work with Shilpa — whether as a healing client or a student — you are connecting with a tradition that is both ancient in its roots and quietly powerful in its application.
