A first Reiki session can feel unfamiliar, but the experience itself is uncomplicated. You remain fully clothed, rest comfortably, and stay in control of your boundaries throughout.

Arriving and settling in

Your session begins with a private conversation. We talk about what has brought you in, how you have been feeling, and what you hope the time might offer. This is also where you can ask questions and tell me about any mobility, sensory, or comfort needs.

You do not need to prepare a perfect intention. Wanting to rest is enough.

What happens on the treatment table?

You lie fully clothed on a comfortable treatment table, usually on your back to begin. Blankets and supports can be adjusted, and seated Reiki is available if lying down is not comfortable.

I place my hands lightly on, or just above, a series of areas such as the head, shoulders, torso, knees, and feet. We agree on touch beforehand. You can request hands-off practice for the whole session or for any area.

What might Reiki feel like?

People sometimes notice warmth, coolness, tingling, heaviness, lightness, gentle emotion, or a sense of drifting toward sleep. Others simply feel rested. Sensations can change from one session to another.

There is no sign you must look for and no requirement to believe in Reiki. Your comfort matters more than producing a particular experience.

After the practice

At the end, I give you time to return to the room slowly. We can talk about what you noticed, or keep the close quiet. I may share reflections in a grounded way, never as a medical diagnosis or a fixed prediction.

Most people can continue with their day. If possible, leave a little space afterwards to drink water, have a light meal, or take a gentle walk rather than rushing straight into a demanding schedule.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no universal schedule. One session may offer a useful pause. Some clients return occasionally as part of their self-care, while others decide Reiki is not for them. You will not be pressured into a package or promised a cure.
